Why travel to Cambodia to see the Angkor Wat temples when you can find them around the corner too? The disused shaft ovens look so unusual and surreal that they can also be used as a backdrop for events and films. They belong to the Museum Park of Rüdersdorf, which has much more to see and know about lime mining and recycling.
The official entrance to the museum park is Heinitzstr. 9, which is relatively far away. But there is also a hiking trail from Vogelsdorfer Str. Along Strausberger Mühlenfließ to Tasdorf (shown as a dotted line), which touches the area and is accessible by bike even when the park is closed (with a few stairs).
The pyro games event takes place every year on the grounds of the museum park.
The best way to get a delicious filling is to go to Restaurant Kalkstein.
The area in front of the shaft furnace is a popular meeting place for young people.
