Over 500 trees have dried up here. Therefore, at first glance it looks a bit like a barren grass landscape and you expect a bunch of straw driven by the wind to roll by. But if you search a little, you will also discover something. For example, old asphalt remains from the former Johannisthal airfield, which opened here in 1909 and was closed again in 1995. Thanks to the lovingly designed signs, you will learn something about the Mauerpfeffer and the rest of the “life in the asphalt joint”. And that there are also foxes and rabbits here. But you can see more of a sheep or a raptor from the elevated circular trail. Or spiders, beetles and bees of all kinds.

The landscape protection area is quite extensive, there is a nature reserve in the center and outside there are playground, skating rink, workout park and a volleyball court. So everyone will become happy.
